Book Launch: Anatomy of Disintegration

Political philosopher Rodrigo Nunes will discuss his new book, Anatomy of Disintegration, in conversation with journalist Brendan O’Connor on Friday, November 13, 2026, at The People’s Forum in Manhattan.

The discussion centers on the global rise of far-right political movements, drawing on the experience of Bolsonarismo in Brazil alongside parallel tendencies across the United States, Argentina, and India. Nunes argues that contemporary right-wing formations are not attempts to halt societal breakdown, but rather efforts to harness and accelerate the institutional decay set in motion by capital and sharpened by the crisis of neoliberalism.

Nunes is an associate professor of philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and a visiting fellow at the University of Essex. He is the author of Neither Vertical nor Horizontal: A Theory of Political Organisation and Organisation of the Organisationless: Collective Action After Networks. O’Connor is a journalist, a doctoral candidate in geography at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center, and the author of Blood Red Lines: How Nativism Fuels the Right.

The event runs from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Advance registration is available through the venue’s website.

The event is organized by The People’s Forum.
